My Two Cents

by Nick Morgan

On this ironical holiday, I don't have much to say about Reagan's death because I know very little about him and thus refuse to take a stance. But in the spirit of ignorant partisanship and irreverently unfunny humor, I offer a solution to the controversy over whether Reagan should replace FDR on the dime.

Said solution: Lincoln's already got the five dollar bill, so boot him off the penny to make room for Reagan. After all, everyone knows what part of the Reaganomic dollar actually "trickles down," right?

I like it.

Alternatively, we could mint a new $5,000 dollar bill with his mug on it. Then, instead of a boring refund check, Bush could slip a few of those in the envelope to all those who benefit from his dividend & other high end tax cuts.

When Reagan's economic theory was presented as "trickle down" it soon became obvious that in practice it meant "piss on you".

Personally, I think Reagan would be more fitting on the $5 bill, since Lincoln already has the Logs, and the penny is disregarded way too much to be worthy of Reagan's image.
