Next Symposium: Bar Review, Bar Exam

by PG

NOW HOLDING THE PRESS FOR PEOPLE TOO EXHAUSTED TO SUBMIT THIS WEEK! SOBER UP AND SEND YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO RUN AUGUST 8-12.

With three of the original De Novo bloggers graduated and now studying for and taking the bar exam in various states, we'll be holding our next symposium on a topic much on their minds. It is planned for the first second week of August, and as ever, we are soliciting contributions from a variety of perspectives: the class of 2005, professors, practitioners, clerks, judges, teachers of bar review courses, graders and writers of bar exam questions, even people from other professions who would like to provide a comparative look at the kind of licensing exams that they undergo.

Some bloggers, such as practitioner Scheherazade Fowler and professor Daniel Solove, have argued that the bar exam should be abolished, so a response to their criticisms would be especially useful, as would be suggestions on how to mend it, not end it.

Please send your complaints about BarBri pricing, horror stories on mistreatment by testing officials, odes to Chemerinsky and more to submit -at- blogdenovo -d0t- org. Thanks, and good luck to all those currently seeking to overcome this hurdle to becoming a real lawyer.
