It's Something About Imitation & Flattery, Right?

by Chris Geidner

By the way, and as Mr. Stern notes, Howard is no longer alone in the white-site, red-header, blue-link appellate blog-maintaining world: Meet How Appalling, the Web's first blog devoted to picking on Howard Bashman. Although I am a big dork and am constantly appreciative of the service Howard provides, I must admit that the 20 Questions for the Appalling Judge is hilarious. A parodied Judge Roy "Ten Commandments" Moore is "interviewed":

2. Are you adhering to the Federal Law Clerk Hiring Plan?

Since I am no longer a judge, and since even when I was a judge I was a state court judge, I have no idea what you're talking about.

I hope Howard takes this in the fun I assume it is meant.

P.S. -- It does appear, however, he might be losing it. While Howard was watching "Lost in Translation," I saw "Secret Window," which is clearly one of Johnny Depp's best movies. I actually forgot it was even him several times throughout the film, which says something. It is the only drama -- besides "Gilbert Grape" -- to equal his comedic performance in one of my favorite "fun" flicks, "Benny & Joon." Also, to see Len Cariou -- better known to the world for his Tony-winning portrayal of Sweeney Todd -- in a Steven King novella-turned-movie was spookily appropriate (and appropriately spooky). And although his "Sweeney Todd" leading lady, Angela Lansbury, sang about their shared home "By the Sea" in 1979, she was nowhere to be seen in "Secret Window," which took place by the sea (or at least a large lake).

As is said, imitation is the best form of flattery. Maybe not in this particular situation, though. It's funny nonetheless.

Sorry about the terribly redundant comment. Sometimes I don't read the titles of the posts. :)

I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw that site. F**King hilarious. Howard actually represented me and my group in the Third Circuit, so I appreciate the services he provides. That said, the spoof site is awesome, and only a true fan of Howard can appreciate it.
